Nozstock Festival
Hello you!
How do you do today? Enjoying the October in August weather? Yah? Nevermind, just read my blog init.
Once again, I’m sat in the dark about to play Soundcloud-roulette, there’s a half watched episode of True Blood on a Firefox tab, a half watched episode of Eastenders on a Google Chrome tab (SORRY, not sorry) and about 5 tabs of Oyster online open all over the place. I recently lost my purse on transport le public and Transport For London are having a difficult time giving me a refund. Haha
As part of my family-friendly festival edit for AlexandAlexa, I went up to to Herefordshire to see how much fun the whole family can have at Nozstock, The Hidden Valleys
I just tried to recollect my memories of Nozstock and suck it! I found the light. Now, when I think of Nozstock, I immediately imagine The Skints. I knew of The Skints before I saw them at Nozstock, Im pretty sure I’ve seen them in Liverpool or maybe Brixton, or perhaps both.
The Skints are magical, their performance at Nozstock was beyond whimsical – despite the weather. I’m going to go as far as to say that their soundcloud does not do them enough justice. I saw them from the side of the stage the night they played, I was so freakishly drawn to the band I actually walked on to the stage and stood there. And stared. It was incredibly beautiful. The lead singer’s voice is insane and the band… they just get each other, like, they’ve always done that – made surreal music together their whole life.
Apart from The Skints, I saw a little bit Craig Charles DJing, I shook a leg until the rain pretty much rained it in.
Back to Nozstock! In a nutshell, it’s growth is a fairytale. What was once the Noz family barbie (barbeque,) grew into something of a Jurassic Farm in its sixteenth year. There’s this cool old guy who keeps the main stage warm with his personality, his charisma is so impeccable some even confuse him for Noz himself. As for farmer Noz, I think I came into close proximity of him about twice. I probably walked past him a few times and didn’t actually realise, he strikes me as a very modest guy!
As for the food, it was so delicious I had a burger for breakfast. That is all.
Anywhooos, Nozstock is a great and as they say ‘A rural slice of English eccentricity.’ The locals are nice, the boys are attractive in an early noughties boy band kind of way. Alcohol or no alcohol you still would.
Ciao! Check out the video I made above!
